
African Greys
| African Grey Parrots are from
Africa, the most common countries they are found in is the Ghana, Congo and
Cameroon. These greys have subtle differences. For example the Ghana is
smaller and darker and the Cameroon is slightly larger and lighter in color then the
Congo. The most common grey kept in the United States is the Congo. African Greys have a well known reputation for being not only the best of talking birds but also very sensitive and highly intelligent. They have the capability to mimic the human voice as well as sounds in their environment. They are also known to be relatively quiet birds. One well known parrot named Alex, owned by Dr. Irene Pepperber PhD, has made several appearances on television, showing his exceptional ability to grasp different categories such as size, shape, color, quantity etc. This is only a brief description of the wonderful qualities of African Greys. |
